Question 1

What is a white gold natural diamond engagement ring?

Accepted Answer

A white gold natural diamond engagement ring features a mined diamond set in a white gold band — one of the most classic and popular engagement ring combinations.

Question 2

Does white gold need to be re-plated over time?

Accepted Answer

Yes. White gold is coated with rhodium to achieve its bright white finish. Over time, the rhodium plating can wear and the ring may need replating — typically every 1-2 years depending on wear.

Question 3

Is white gold or platinum better for a natural diamond engagement ring?

Accepted Answer

Both are excellent choices. Platinum is naturally white and won't require replating; white gold needs periodic rhodium plating. Platinum is also denser and more durable. White gold is a more accessible price point.

Question 4

What natural diamond shapes look best in white gold?

Accepted Answer

Virtually any natural diamond shape looks beautiful in white gold. The cool, bright tone of white gold enhances the colorless appearance of natural diamonds and complements all shapes equally well.

Question 5

Can a white gold natural diamond engagement ring be resized?

Accepted Answer

Yes. White gold engagement rings can be resized. Best Brilliance offers one complimentary ring resizing within the first 60 days of receipt.
