Most owners will wear their pear-shaped diamond ring with the point facing away from them. This helps give the impression of a more elegant longer finger, and makes the hand look even lovelier and more expressive. But since pear diamonds are used in pendants and earrings too, their versatility makes them a designer’s dream. A chic pendant earring can have a lovely pear stone with the point going up, making it dangle and reflect light with the slightest gesture of the wearers face. Did you know that owing to its unique shape, the pear shape diamond looks quite a bit larger than the same size round diamond? We like that. There seems to be an ideal length to width ratio for pear shaped gems. They can be 1:1.5, but since every diamond is unique, and tastes are very personal, this shape is also offered in 1:1.75, and on occasion up to 1:2.0. These stones are most often worn with the point facing toward the lady’s fingernail. But you choose how you like to wear it. There are no hard and fast rules with which way the point is directed. The charming shape also slenderizes the lady’s hand making it appear even more graceful. That is pretty!
